The Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV) is an English riding association that sets the event and governance for affiliated clubs. With over 254 member clubs and more than 5,000 individual members across Victoria and parts of New South Wales and South Australia, HRCAV provides a structured yet welcoming environment for riders to learn, train, and compete. Standardbred Riding Group is a HRCAV club.
The HRCAV offers a broad range of disciplines for riders to participate in, catering to all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced competitors. These include:
A discipline focused on the rider’s ability to guide the horse through a series of predetermined movements, demonstrating control and harmony between horse and rider.
Involves navigating a series of obstacles, testing the horse’s agility and the rider’s skill.
A combination of dressage, cross-country, and show jumping, offering a challenging and exciting experience for riders.
A discipline where horses and riders are judged on appearance, behaviour, and skill, with categories for led and ridden classes
Combines dressage and show jumping, testing a horse’s versatility and the rider’s ability to compete in different disciplines.
A less formal event where riders follow a set course through varied terrain, testing horsemanship and navigational skills.
Competitive team events where riders from different clubs form teams to compete for the TTT trophy.
SRG proudly hosts HRCAV-affiliated events, including the All Breeds Show, where we organise the HRCAV official show ring. This partnership allows us to showcase the versatility of Standardbred horses while offering our members access to a structured and supportive competition system.
We celebrate the incredible potential of Standardbred horses beyond the racetrack. We are a passionate community of riders showcasing the versatility of this breed through inclusive and engaging equestrian events.
