About Us

The Standardbred Riding Group (SRG) was founded in 2006 by a group of Standardbred enthusiasts who wanted to showcase the abilities of these horses beyond the racetrack. Over the years, SRG has grown into a vibrant, close-knit community that is dedicated to promoting the versatility of Standardbred horses in various HRCAV equestrian disciplines, including dressage, working equitation, show jumping, and trail navigation.

We are a versatile group and love to support our members with other disciplines and activities, such as endurance, casual trail riding, and other interesting options as we come across them. SRG has something for everyone!

Why Join SRG?

Inclusive Community

We’re a close-knit group of horse enthusiasts who support each other in various equestrian disciplines. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider, we welcome you.

Regular Rallies

Join us for monthly rallies where you’ll have the chance to learn from top instructors, take part in fun lessons, and socialise with fellow riders.

HRCAV - Affiliated Club

SRG is proud to be a member of the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV), which oLers structured yet fun opportunities for riders to participate in a variety of equestrian sports. You don’t need to ride a Standardbred to join us—only for competitions if and when you choose to participate.

Social and Fun

Beyond riding, SRG members enjoy a lively social calendar filled with events, catch-ups, and shared experiences.

Pathways for Harness Horses

We work closely with the SPPHAV and HERO programs, providing pathways for Standardbred horses after their racing careers.
